Add-ons That Matter Here

Add-ons we discuss for Guwahati driving

Add-ons are where motor policies differ most. These four earn their premium in this region more often than any others.

Zero Depreciation

Claims paid without deducting depreciation on parts — the difference between a part-paid and a fully-paid repair bill on newer vehicles.

Engine Protection

Covers engine damage from waterlogging and hydrostatic lock — the classic monsoon claim that standard policies reject.

Roadside Assistance

Towing, battery, flat tyre and fuel help on highways and hill routes across the North East.

Return to Invoice

On total loss or theft, pays the invoice value of the car rather than the depreciated insured value.

  • Photograph the scene and damage before moving the vehicle
  • Call us — we intimate the insurer and guide the next steps
  • Do not start a waterlogged vehicle; have it towed
  • For theft or third-party injury, file an FIR immediately
Questions Drivers Ask

Motor insurance FAQs

Is third-party motor insurance really compulsory?

Yes. Under the Motor Vehicles Act, every vehicle on Indian roads must carry at least third-party liability cover. Driving without it invites fines and leaves you personally liable for injury or damage you cause to others.

Does a normal car policy cover engine damage from waterlogging?

Usually not. Damage from cranking a car in standing water (hydrostatic lock) is treated as consequential loss and rejected under a standard comprehensive policy. An engine-protection add-on covers it — worth serious thought in Guwahati, where waterlogging is a fact of life in the monsoon.

My policy lapsed. Can I still renew it?

Yes, but act fast. A lapsed policy usually means a vehicle inspection before renewal, and if the break exceeds 90 days you lose your accumulated No Claim Bonus. Renew before expiry whenever possible — we track renewals for our clients.

Can I keep my No Claim Bonus when I change my car or insurer?

Yes. NCB belongs to you, not to the vehicle or the insurer. It transfers to a new car and to a new insurer at renewal — we handle the paperwork so the discount is not lost.
